Baboon Bait Illustration Artwork
A hand-drawn illustration of a baboon fishing a marlin for a new fishing store called Baboon Bait. The artwork was designed not only as a standalone piece but also adapted for use on stickers, hoodies, and caps, giving the brand a bold and unique visual identity.
The Challenge
The main challenge of this project was the time-intensive process of creating the hand-drawn illustration. The drawing required a high level of detail to bring the scene to life especially in depicting the dynamic interaction between the baboon and the marlin. Balancing realism with a stylized look took careful planning and patience throughout the illustration process.
The Solution
To manage the complexity and detail of the illustration, I broke the artwork down into stages; starting with rough sketches to map out composition and movement, then gradually refining each element. This approach allowed me to stay focused and maintain consistency throughout the drawing.
I also created separate design adaptations early in the process to ensure the artwork translated well across stickers, hoodies, and caps.
